Our Vision: “Hand in hand, inspiring hope” About us: Sutton Mental Health Foundation was founded for the benefit of people with experience of mental distress, and their carers, resident in the London Borough of Sutton, by providing facilities for recreation or other leisure-time occupation in the interests of social welfare, with the object of improving quality of life. Our priorities are to meet people’s personal and social needs, and to meet the need for people to exert their rights and realise opportunity and have a voice. Mission Statement: As a member-led organisation we work together to promote well-being in people who experience mental distress and to overcome barriers to involvement in society so that we might fully enjoy the lives we wish to lead. Our Core Values:
· Being Member-led: SMHF is committed to being member-led and will promote peer support.
· Safety: SMHF will provide a safe and supportive environment.
· Valuing People: SMHF staff, volunteers and members will treat each other with dignity and respect, and seek equal opportunity for all.
· Individual Achievement: SMHF will strive to enable members, volunteers and staff to move forward to strengthen their independence and well being.
· Outreach: SMHF will work in a proactive way to reach out and engage with the wider community.
· Having a Voice: SMHF will provide a voice for people with experience of mental distress.
